Ferrari 488 Pista Looks Like A Weapon On Green Hell

In person, the Ferrari 488 Pista looks like an absolute weapon and certainly too extreme for a show floor. That’s enough grunt to rocket the Pista to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 2.85 seconds, 124 mph (200 km/h) in 7.6 seconds and a top speed exceeding 211 mph (340 km/h). These figures put the Pista directly in line with the McLaren 720S.

Many of the performance gains have been achieved by taking components from the 488 Challenge race car. For example, the 488 Pista includes the racer’s valves and springs, cam profile, strengthened pistons and cylinder heads, shorter inlet ducts, radiators with an inverted rake, and a larger intercooler, among other things. Among the key aerodynamic changes are modified front and rear bumpers, an aggressive rear diffuser, and an active S-Duct at the front. These alterations also make the 488 Pista look a hell of a lot better than the regular model.

While the 488 Pista could probably target a Nurburgring lap time of roughly 7 minutes, it’s extremely unlikely the Italian marque will look to post an official time.

Cool to see them at the ring, car looks amazing

Not sure what rules are now but since they generally don’t post times at outside tracks doubt they’ve even asked to do official record

It’s more for tuning of final car

the pista shouldnt be competing with the 720s so if it actually beats the 720 mclaren is going to pull a porshe on them and kick ass

Yeah I know, but just imagine if during testing they realize they can go for the GT2RS record and somehow manage to do it, don't you think they would say it? :P

Yeah, but would you truly believe in that?

Yes 'cause I like to dream big LOL
Jokes aside I think that if the car is performing how they presented it and track conditions are perfect in every way they could have a shot at it! I don't know if they're aiming at that or not tho!

I for sure believe they can have a shot at it, but we will only know if someone puts both cars on the same track with both drivers and see the times
    • Albertnative

That would be a fair comparison and that's exactly why Nurburgring times are not so much relevant imho!

True, but at the same time they are because the track is so damn demanding that for you to able to put a good lap time you have to be a really good driver!

i feel like it'll be slower than the competition, so they won't

Knowing Ferrari they will not post a Nurburgring lap time, but I am also excited to see what this thing can do

I would agree with you in general but if the time is competitive and/or impressive I think they will announce it :D
