With a 10-cylinder engine mounted in the middle of its low-slung form, it must be hard to make the Audi R8 look much sportier than it already does. There’s a front lip spoiler, DTM-style aero flicks, side sill extensions, an even more pronounced diffuser, a big rear wing and more aerodynamic endplates behind the rear wheels. All of which adds up to a road car that looks almost as ready to hit the track as one of Audi Sport’s R8 LMS customer racing cars.

In V10 Plus spec, the 5.2-liter V10 in the second-generation R8 produces 602 horsepower (610 PS/449 kW) and 413 lb-ft (560 Nm) of torque. Channeled to all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, it’ll rocket from a standstill to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.2 seconds and top out at 205 mph (330 km/h). Kinda makes you wonder why, apart from the badge (and, maybe, styling), would anyone spend much more on a Huracan, or what Audi would do with the R8 if the Lamborghini wasn’t in the picture, doesn’t it?
